My sweetie Poo's name is Dixie and she's a cream colored toy Poodle (...excuse the silly question, but is Toy the same as Dwarf? or is Dwarf a Miniature?) Dixie is a joy to own and is absolutely spoiled rotten. She loves long skirts, when I'm wearing one she'll hide under it while I'm walking and poke her head out to see where she's going. ...not at all embarrassing. I like to joke that she's not a "Poodle" she's an "oodle" because no "P" is allowed in the house. (hopefully that is universally funny)

Dixie's playmates are a German shepherd named Daisy (she's my big sweetie! ...all 100lbs of her!) and my cat "Pooh" who's bitterly angry about all the dog additions. I recently lost a Dalmatian, "Dice" an adorable old chap who blessed us with 15 years of his life.

I'm amazed at how beautiful all the Poodles are on this page! Oh I just love your black Poodle Khenya.

Oops! I didn't get a chance to edit that last post - I was having all kinds of problems posting, mainly due to my lack of Finnish language skills. I hope to learn more. Don't get me wrong, this site does explain things very well for those of us who aren't familiar with Finish, it just takes us a bit longer.

Hello, I am a Finnish American poodle owner in Minnesota, USA. Freddy was a rescue dog, left tied to a tree in the woods with another dog. He is 8 years old and has been with me for 7 years. I don't know how to post his picture to this group but he is adorable. I may be Finnish American, but I am third generation and have not learned the Finnish language so I may need help posting.

I posted the last message about Freddy. I thought I was logged in but see that it was guest.

Yeah, Johanna has created a great board for us and you're very welcome here! I'm glad Johanna has invited here new people from different countries so that we can bring alive this international part of this forum, too.

Your little Dixie is very cute. And at that "oodle" thing, I think that is universally funny for everyone who understands Enlish.
Oh, and thank you for the compliment on my Enya.

Believe me, no one will blame you for not knowing Finnish. We totally understand it's not something everyone understands, so just take your time to find out how everything works here and just ask anytime it seems it's impossible to understand how something works, ok?

Welcome to the forum - wow, now we have here even a Finnish American, I've never really met someone who has Finnish roots but doesn't know our language. It's nice that you cared to go through with all that trouble of the registration to this forum.
You can add a picture in you post while you're writing your post. There right under the text box is a link Add image to post that allows you yo upload images straight from your computer to this forum. I've heard that 'add image' link isn't unfortunately there in every possible skin you can choose for this board but if you have the basic GreenTech skin, you should find that link easily:

Thanks for the welcome. Yes, those of us who are third generation and beyond were not encouraged to learn Finnish. I know some words and have tried to take classes but there are not instructors willing to teach it. My parents are bilingual, English and Finnish with Finnish being their first language. It sounds strange I know. My grandmothers' dogs knew only Finnish, so even they were more Finnish than me.

Freddy is adorable!! ...its a small world, for sure. I was born in St. Paul, MN and moved to Iowa when I was about 7ish. I do remember St. Paul park and how deep the snow would get. I'm sure St. Paul park looks totally different now.

My name is Sabine Bock. I live in the north of Germany and I have a husband and three children. I breed with my mother together black miniature. The kennel name is: vom Runenstein. In our Pedigrees names seem like Kateisha, Westpriors, Curlfinch, Miradel, G-Diggers. They are international. We have breed some International and National Champions.

I could not visit the last years as well as shows as I wanted with pleasure. Then this did my mother. But now the children are already older and I can also go again on shows.

Kristy, Dixie is adorable, and Sabine, Lina is adorable as well. Ever since I adopted Freddy, I have come to appreciate the beauty and intelligence of poodles. They are a wonderful breed.

I bought Cristal Toy of Mirrorhome as an adult from Holland,so do not know what offspring she had before coming over to me.

I don't know, maybe it's that "facefur" what makes that, but i think that Ressu looks like something bichon? I'm sorry if this hurt your feelings.
